Butane and propane are the only hydrocarbons originating from 2 sources:

• LPG from gas and oil fields
• LPG from refined crude oil

Field LPG

• In 2005, Total Group's production of LPG from natural gas and the stabilization of crude oil represented more than 3.1 million tons

Refinery-produced LPG

• The number one refiner in Europe, Total Group produced 2.4 million tons of LPG in 2005 in the 9 refineries it fully owns and the 7 refineries it partially owns.

• Outside of Europe, the Total Group produced 240,000 tons of LPG.
